Through support for young talents and the promotion of diversity in engineering professions, equal opportunities for all are encouraged.
On the occasion of International Women in Engineering Day – June 23, Siemens Energy, in cooperation with the H-Bridges team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, organized a roundtable dedicated to empowering women in engineering professions. The event brought together members of the faculty team and engineers from the company, who engaged in open dialogue to exchange experiences, discuss challenges and opportunities in the energy sector, and share practical advice for career development.

This initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy aimed at improving the representation of women in engineering fields, locally led by the Inclusion and Diversity Committee, in line with Siemens Energy’s global goals.
“In Siemens Energy, we believe that diversity within teams contributes to better decision-making and faster innovation. Our goal is to provide women in engineering with tangible support through development programs, open dialogue, and access to leadership positions. Collaboration with the H-Bridges team is particularly important to us, as we want to inspire and encourage young female students to choose this industry. We believe that the changes we want to see begin precisely with them,” stated Simona Šutić Bošnjak, Project Team Lead for Bid Preparation, Siemens Energy.
Representatives of the H-Bridges team emphasized the importance of this cooperation: “We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to meet experienced engineers and hear about their rich professional journeys. The conversation was extremely inspiring and encouraging, especially the message that we should not fear the unknown, but explore different fields and positions, even when we are not entirely sure what they entail. It was also invaluable to hear how much the support of colleagues and a strong team matter for professional growth and advancement. A particularly strong impression was left by the warmth of the hosts and the pleasant atmosphere throughout the event.”

”It is encouraging to see the growing presence of women in engineering and industry. Diversity of perspectives and experiences enriches teams and contributes to creating a supportive working environment for everyone,” emphasized Anja Babić from the H-Bridges team.
Through a series of initiatives, Siemens Energy continuously works on building an inclusive workplace that fosters equal opportunities for all. Programs such as the Empowerment Talk series, educational workshops, and activities focused on supporting the local community are part of the company’s broader ESG strategy. The global objective is to increase the participation of women in leadership positions, and active steps are being taken toward achieving this goal, one step at a time.
