Ministry of Mining and Energy invites public to participate in drafting amendments to the Law on Renewable Energy Sources

he Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia has opened public consultations on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources. Through this process, citizens, businesses, and the professional community are given the opportunity to contribute with their proposals to improving the regulatory framework and accelerating Serbia’s energy transition.

The amendments aim to ensure full alignment with the European directives RED II and RED III, which provide for faster development of renewable energy projects, simplified permitting procedures, and clearer deadlines for competent institutions. This will create conditions for more transparent and predictable procedures, as well as greater legal certainty for investors.

The Ministry emphasizes that the new legal solutions will contribute to the accelerated development of renewable energy sources, the reduction of administrative barriers, and more efficient achievement of national energy and climate goals. They will also have particular importance for citizens and businesses, enabling more active participation through the status of prosumers, renewable energy communities, and new models of energy storage and exchange.

The amendments are part of the obligations Serbia has undertaken through the Reform Agenda and activities envisaged in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (INECP).

Interested stakeholders may submit their proposals and suggestions until July 7, 2026 via email: oie@mre.gov.rs.
