According to data from WindEurope, European association which RES Serbia is a member, between January 1 and March 31, 2026, a total of 5.8 GW of wind turbines were ordered across 13 countries in Europe. Of this, 5.5 GW was publicly disclosed, while 2.8 GW of offshore capacity was ordered in the United Kingdom, marking the highest order volume in the past five quarters.
The total ordered capacity was 20% lower compared to Q4 2025 and 4% lower year-on-year.
Serbia ordered 11 wind turbines in Q1 2026
The United Kingdom led with 2.9 GW of ordered capacity, followed by Germany (1.4 GW) and Türkiye (390 MW). During the quarter, 71 firm wind farm projects were recorded, more than half of which were in Germany.
In Serbia, 11 wind turbines with a capacity between 6 and 7 MW each were ordered from Nordex Energy, a regular member of RES Serbia. These turbines are designated for the Jasikovo Wind Park project, with a total capacity of up to 70 MW, one of the winners of the second round of auctions.
Vestas and Nordex had almost all orders in Q1 2026
The majority of orders went to Vestas (60%), while Nordex ranked second with 32% of the estimated total capacity. Other manufacturers held significantly smaller shares: Enercon (3%), Goldwind (2%), GE Vernova (1%), Siemens Energy (1%), and EWT (<1%).
The average power rating of onshore wind turbines ordered in Q1 2026 reached a record 6.4 MW, the highest value in the past five quarters.
The average power rating of offshore wind turbines was 15 MW. 87% of ordered capacity included an Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract, while 1.2 GW of orders featured long-term O&M agreements of at least 20 years.
The WindEurope report shows that the wind turbine market in Q1 2026 recorded a decline compared to the end of 2025, but remains strong thanks to major offshore projects in the United Kingdom.
