Earth Day, observed on April 22, is not just a date on the calendar, it is a reminder of the state of our planet, the richness of biodiversity, and the challenges we face in the transition toward a greener future.
This year’s slogan, “Our Power, Our Planet”, highlights the power of individuals, communities, and local initiatives that contribute to protecting the environment.
Special emphasis is placed on renewable energy sources and the responsibility carried by citizens and local communities. The total global renewable energy capacity reached more than 5 terawatts by the end of 2025, following a record increase of 692 GW, representing an annual growth of 15.5%, according to the latest report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
The message of Earth Day 2026 underscores that change begins with us, with every individual, every decision, and every responsibility we take toward the planet we call home.
