RES Serbia at II CIRED Montenegro

The Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia actively participated in the II CIRED Conference on Electricity Distribution Networks of Montenegro, held from June 15 to 18, 2026, in Bečići.

The Association’s Manager, Danijela Isailović, moderated the panel “The Role and Importance of the Electricity Distribution System in the Energy Transition”, which addressed key challenges and opportunities for distribution system operators in the process of transitioning towards sustainable energy solutions.

Speakers from the Association RES Serbia included: Srdan Srdanović, Business Director for Smart Infrastructure, Siemens Serbia, Dragan Buača, Sales Director for End Users, Schneider Electric Serbia, Nemanja Vukobrat, Regional Representative, GE Vernova Grid Automation Serbia. As well as Vanja Bajić, Advisor to the Director, Elektrokrajina a.d. Banja Luka and Krsto Biskupović, Head of Development, Planning and Studies, CEDIS Montenegro.

It was noted that distribution companies have carried a significant burden of the energy transition, and that greater investments in the grid, as well as regulatory and political support, are necessary for further development. Panelists agreed that cooperation with technology companies is strong, but could be further enhanced through additional knowledge and experience exchange.

Members of the Association present at the Conference included ABB, Siemens, Siemens Energy, EPCG, GE Vernova, and Schneider Electric, who enriched the discussions and presentations with their contributions.
