At Budva, the EPCG NET 2026 Energy Symposium was held, once again bringing together leading representatives of the power sector from the region and Europe. In addition to the Association RES Serbia’s Manager, Danijela Isailović, many members of the Association also participated, actively contributing to panels and discussions on the future of the energy sector.
The Manager of the Association RES Serbia, Danijela Isailović, spoke about the importance of new investments in the renewable energy sector. She emphasized that, at a time of global energy uncertainty and the need to strengthen Serbia’s energy independence, regulations are being adopted that slow down future projects. She pointed out the paradox that, at a time when supply security is one of the key challenges and new megawatts are urgently needed, solutions are being introduced that halt the development of new capacities.
New energy trends were also discussed by Dr. Dragan Ostojić, member of the Supervisory Board of EPS; Ljubiša Đurković, Technical Director of EPCG; Lazar Radovanović, Head of the Gas Services Organizational Unit at Siemens Energy Serbia; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jelena Stojković from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade; Rigo Villamarín, General Manager for Montenegro at POWER X Japan; and Tina Scherf, General Manager of LE Power Germany.
The panelists agreed that energy markets are entering a period of high volatility and rising prices, which will significantly affect the future development of the power sector. It was highlighted that electricity storage will become one of the most important factors for system stability, while the flexibility of power grids will be crucial for the successful integration of renewable energy sources.
