Marko Janković, Head of Electricity Market Affairs and Regulation at CWP Europe, will take part in the traditional panel dedicated to the electricity market at the RES SERBIA 2025 conference, which will be held on September 17th and 18th in Vrdnik.
Marko is one of the pioneers in the development of the electricity market in Serbia, with over 15 years of experience in the energy sector. He has played a significant role in market development strategy, regulatory framework creation, and the promotion of the green energy transition.
As a graduate electrical engineer, he has had a long career at Serbia’s transmission system operator, Elektromreža Srbije (EMS), and has been involved with numerous national and international organizations related to the electricity market.
Before joining CWP Europe, he served as Director of the Electricity Market Directorate at EMS. During his tenure at EMS, he made a key contribution to establishing market processes, drafting the first market rules, and other essential legal acts. He worked with a team on integrating the national market into the regional and pan-European electricity market.
He was a member of the ENTSO-E Market Committee, as well as the supervisory board of the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) in Luxembourg and the European balancing platform for imbalance netting, IGCC. He is especially proud of his membership in Serbia’s national committees for the electricity market within CIGRE and CIRED.
Currently, he is responsible for the development and implementation of power purchase agreement (PPA) models for electricity from renewable sources, with a special focus on optimizing corporate PPA models, as well as regulatory and other activities in the electricity market domain. He participated in the electricity procurement process for the Vetrozelena wind farm project (300 MW) and the Solarina solar power plant (150 MW).
