General Manager of EMS will Open the RES SERBIA 2025

General Manager of the JSC Elektromreža Srbije will speak at the opening ceremony of the RES SERBIA 2025 in Vrdnik.

Jelena Matejić is the General Manager of the Joint Stock Company “Elektromreža Srbije”, Belgrade, with the professional title of Master Manager in the field of management in the public sector, i.e. the title of Bachelor of Economics.

He is the President of the Council of the Joint Stock Fund of the Republic of Serbia, the President of the Assembly of the Regional Center for Security Coordination (SCC), a member of the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) and a member of the Supervisory Board of ADEX HU.

Previously, she worked for Mark Plan, Delta Sport, Droga Kolinska and Atlantik Group.

Matejić has been with Elektromreža Srbije since 2012, and with her team since 2016 she has been successfully managing the National Transmission System Operator in the Republic of Serbia (EMS AD).

During this period, EMS AD further expanded its stake in the Montenegrin Transmission System Operator (CGES), established the first regional power exchange ADEX based in Budapest, became a member of AIB Hub, a European platform for the exchange of guarantees of origin and was certified according to the Third Energy Package. Aset management as well as organizational project management have been introduced in EMS AD, then the financial management and control project and the risk management project have been developed and improved, and the Business Management System (BMS) infrastructure monitoring and management system has been implemented, as well as an auction platform for the purchase and sale of electricity. Remote control has been introduced in a large number of substations, and in the mentioned period, as many as two sections of the Trans-Balkan Corridor for Electricity Transmission (Pancevo-Romanian border and Kragujevac-Kraljevo) have been completed, the third section has been started and the financing of the fourth section has been agreed. A completely new substation Bistrica was built and the following substations were completely reconstructed: Kruševac 1, Srbobran, Smederevo 3, Obrenovac, Pančevo 2, Bor 2, Leskovac… Underground power cables have been built in the territory of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Krusevac… Connection switchgear and connecting transmission lines for four wind farms Čibuk 1, Kovačica, Alibunar and Košava have been completely completed and put into operation. Connection to TETO Pančevo, SS Cukaru Peki, SS Rudnik 4, VE Pupin, Meita connection completed. At the same time, construction work is underway transmission network that will power EXPO 2027 with electricity, as well as the BeoGrid project, which will bring new security in the supply of electricity to Belgrade, but also enable the integration of renewable energy sources in the Banat region.

In the period from 2013 until today, about 750 kilometers of new high-voltage lines have been built. The power of transformation in Serbia has increased by 25 percent compared to 2013.
