The government amended the regulation on buyers-producers

On June 30, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decree on Amendments and Supplements to the Decree on Criteria, Conditions and Method of Calculation of Claims and Obligations between Buyers – Producers and Suppliers. The amendments to the decree regulate the case when the end customer does not deliver the excess produced electricity to the system. In that case, the buyer-producer is obliged to submit to the supplier a request for the conclusion of an ordinary supply contract in accordance with the Law on Energy and is liable for damages to the system operator if he subsequently mistakenly delivers excess electricity to the system. The mentioned change is registered in the Register of buyers-producers. In addition, the amendments to the regulation stipulate that the status of buyer-producer ends if, for any reason, the buyer-producer ceases to need to use the produced electricity for its own consumption, while retaining the production of electricity.
