The minister said that the auctions will be the initiator of a new big investment cycle, noting that the optimism is since we have more than 1,000 MW of ready-made wind power projects.
– We recently broke a record, considering that for the first time we were among the top ten countries in Europe with an 11% share of daily wind production in the national mix, thanks to the operation of eight wind farms with a capacity of 400 MW, in which 730 million euros were invested.

The government and the line ministry, as she reminded, launched auctions for the allocation of market premiums for RES, which will result in 450 new green MW, and in the next three years 1,300 MW, which will improve energy security and reduce the negative impacts of energy on the environment.
– The auctions will encourage the inflow of direct foreign investments, the growth of GDP, the development of the construction industry, with the potential reduction of electricity costs and a more secure supply for our economy and citizens – said Đedović.
Danijela Isailović, manager of the Association, said that it is important to point out the importance of the wind energy industry, which accounts for 16 percent of wind energy in Europe and currently employs more than 300,000 people. Wind energy is expected to make an even greater contribution to the decarbonization of the planet in the coming years. As for Serbia, we currently have 8 wind farms built with a total power of 398 MW, as well as several more under construction.
The news that auctions were announced in the previous days is extremely important, and we will have new investments in the coming years – said Danijela Isailović.
Emmanuel Van Vyve, development director of the Elicio company, which hosted this year’s World Wind Day, said that the company has so far invested more than 90 million euros in projects in Serbia, having built the Alibunar and Malibunar wind farms.
– We have started new investments, and we expect our project to be ready for the auction cycle in 2024 – said Van Vyve.
