Program of the conference “(Green) energy is a feminine word”

The conference “(Green) energy is a feminine word”, which is part of the project “Path to greater participation of women in the RES sector”, will be held on February 10th at the Metropol Hotel in Belgrade with the presence of state officials, ambassadors, and company representatives.

The conference is organized by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia with the support of the Embassy of Canada. Ambassador of Canada to Serbia Giles Norman and the Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović will address the audience at the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, two panel discussions will be organized where successful women will share their experiences of working in the energy sector. The first panel discussion “The role and importance of women for the development of the energy and RES sectors – institutional views.” participate Negica Rajakov, member of the Energy Agency Council; Stana Božović, president of the Expert Group of the Coordinating Body for Gender Equality; Dragana Marjanović, specialist for economic inclusion at EBRD; Maja Adamović, director of the Novi Sad regional maintenance center at Elektromreža Srbije AD; Biljana Grbić, consultant of the Secretariat of the Energy Community. The moderator is Danijela Isailović, manager of the Association RES Serbia.

At the second panel discussion “RES as a secure business and career future for women – experiences of female leaders and research perspectives.”, the participants are Kamala Mujezinović Šantić, junior project development engineer at New Energy Solutions; Jovana Rubežić, general counsel at CWP Europe; Nenad Spasojević, founder of the Center for Policy and Strategy Creating Center; Gordana Jugović, independent engineer at the “Đerdap 2” hydropower plant, PE EPS. The gathered will be greeted in a video address by Malgosia Bartosik, Deputy CEO at WindEurope and Victorya Kerelska, Director of National Associations at WindEurope. The moderator is Mirjana Štrbac, director of corporate communications at Elnos Group.

At the conference, the premiere of the film “I am a woman and I work in the RES sector” will be broadcasted, in which four heroines will reveal how they decided to build a career in the sector of renewable energy sources, what challenges they face when construct wind farms and maintain hydropower plants, but also what they would advise young girls who are just thinking about their studies.

As a reminder, the project “Path to greater participation of women in the RES sector” is implemented by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia with the support of the Embassy of Canada. The goal of the project is the promotion of women working in the RES sector in order to motivate young girls to build a career in this field.
