Little Green Energy Explorers

What is green energy?

Green energy comes from nature – the sun, wind, water, earth, and plants. It helps us have electricity and heat while protecting the planet from pollution. That’s why it’s called clean energy, because it doesn’t dirty the air and doesn’t consume resources that cannot be renewed.

Why is it important?

Types of Renewable Energy Sources (RES)

Wind

Wind turbines use the power of the wind to produce electricity.

Water

Hydropower plants use rivers and moving water.

Sun

Solar panels turn sunlight into electricity.

Biomass

Energy from plants and waste that can be reused.

Biogas

Biogas is a gas that forms when food scraps, grass, or manure decompose without air.

When I Grow Up

What does a job in the world of clean energy look like? What can be made from old wind turbines? These and many other interesting questions are answered in the book “When I Grow Up”, whose heroes are people working in the field of green energy.

The book was written by six inspiring women from five different countries, with the aim of encouraging children and young people around the world to take an interest in clean energy and the many opportunities it offers.

The Renewable Energy Sources Association of Serbia shares the belief that children and young people have the power to change the world for the better. That is why we gladly accepted the invitation to participate in the “When I Grow Up” project and make this inspiring book available in Serbian.

Let the Wind Blow

Inspired by a conversation between two mothers (a Polish wind advocate and a British journalist) and a talented young Iranian artist, this comic tells the story of how renewable energy like wind will contribute to the transformation toward a cleaner and healthier world for all.

Through vivid illustrations and language adapted to the youngest audiences, “Let the Wind Blow” offers an engaging way to educate children about climate change and the importance of renewable energy in the fight to mitigate its effects.
