The second round of auctions for RES has ended: Ten new projects, low prices and an increase in the share of RES

The manager of the Association of Renewables Serbia, Danijela Isailović, and the special advisor to the Minister of Mining and Energy, Rade Mrdak, were guests in the morning program of RTS, where they discussed the second, recently completed round of auctions in which all quotas were filled.

Rade Mrdak said that the auctions have been successfully completed, and that the deadline for the construction of these power plants is 3 to 4 years, which will increase the share of RES in the grid.

Ten wind farms and solar power plants are the winners of the second round of auctions for the allocation of market premiums for renewable energy projects, which were announced in November 2024 by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

Speaking about the prices at the auctions, Danijela Isailovic emphasized that very low purchase prices of electricity were offered, i.e. EUR 50.9 per megawatt-hour for solar and EUR 53.5 per megawatt-hour for wind.

Danijela Isailović also emphasized the importance of faster permitting, in order to build more projects in the future, as well as the need to adequately implement the adopted laws.
