The Transmission System Operator of the Republic of Serbia (EMS), the Transmission System Operator of Slovenia (ELES) and the European Electricity Exchange (EPEX SPOT) announced that they have reached an agreement on establishing a regional electricity exchange ,,Alpine-Adriatic Danube Electricity Exchange – ADEX’’.
The new electricity exchange will be created by merging the electricity exchange from Slovenia (BSP SouthPool) and Serbia (SEEPEX). The joint statement states that one of the business goals of the future stock exchange is to form an organized intraday market in Serbia and to merge the domestic day-ahead market with the single day-ahead EU market (SDAC).
By establishing a regional stock exchange, merging the domestic market with the EU market and forming an intraday market segment on the stock exchange, market conditions will be created for renewable energy projects in Serbia and the region to be increasingly developed on a commercial basis.
