Key RES stakeholders in the country and the region already know where they will be on September 17th and 18th this year – in Vrdnik, where the largest regional conference dedicated to renewable energy sources is traditionally held, RES SERBIA 2025.
This year, the conference celebrates a significant milestone – its fifth consecutive year, with the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia bringing together the business community, representatives of the EBRD, the World Bank, state institutions, and leading investors, who will meet at Ethno Complex Vrdnicka Kula on Fruska Gora to discuss current topics in green energy.
The special focus will be on the results of the second round of auctions, as well as the operation of wind and solar power plants that received market premiums in the first auctions. Participants will have the opportunity to hear analyses of developments in the region and Europe, with an overview of the record growth in renewable energy capacity observed last year, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
One of the central topics will also be the challenges of electricity storage, with the participation of relevant domestic and international experts. Discussions initiated at the previous conference will continue, focusing on education as a key factor in the energy transition, as well as e-mobility and ESG standards.
The conference is organized by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia, which brings together more than 50 members, including the largest producers of electricity from wind and solar, contractors, equipment suppliers, and regional and global giants. RES Serbia is the only association in Europe that includes EBRD, the European Investment Bank, and the IFC Group of the World Bank as part of its membership.

Why is it important to attend the RES SERBIA conference?
The previous four RES SERBIA conferences have brought together thousands of participants, over a hundred panelists, clarified many uncertainties, and facilitated networking for new business partners.
As a reminder, the RES SERBIA 2024 conference gathered more than 500 participants and 45 international speakers. It was noted that Serbia is a leader in the region when it comes to the energy transition, and it was announced that by 2026, Serbia will have more than 1,500 green MW, not including hydroelectric plants.
The RES SERBIA 2023 conference also saw a high demand for tickets, with participants congratulating the successful implementation of the first auctions for market premiums for renewables, but also expressing concerns about balancing and connecting projects to the grid.
At the RES SERBIA 2022 conference, it was revealed that EBRD wants to have 50% green projects in Serbia, that investors in wind power plants see Serbia as a key market in Europe, and investors received a series of useful tips on how to choose locations for their projects.
It became clear that this is an event that will be central to the business community’s calendar since the very first RES SERBIA conference in September 2021, which gathered the green industry elite of Serbia and the region. For the first time in Belgrade, Giles Dickson, the director of the leading European wind industry association WindEurope, was present, and RES Serbia has been a member of this organization for years.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the conference everyone in the region is talking about – join us on September 17th and 18th in Vrdnik for RES SERBIA 2025.
