The conference “(Green) Energy is a feminine word”, which is part of the project “The road to greater participation of women in the RES sector”, will be held on February 10th in Belgrade at the Metropol Hotel. The conference is organized by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia with the support of the Embassy of Canada.
The conference will consist of two panel discussions, and the premiere will be shown of a film about female engineers, managers and directors who build wind farms and solar power plants, maintain hydropower plants and prove that the field of energy, especially renewable energy sources, is not reserved for men. Successful women from the world of energy will participate in the conference, and the ambassador of Canada to the RS, representatives of the Government of Serbia and public companies are expected.
The project “Path to greater participation of women in the RES sector” is implemented by the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia with the support of the Embassy of Canada. The goal of the project is the promotion of women working in the RES sector in order to motivate young girls to build a career in this field.
Part of the project is the survey “Attitudes of female citizens on green energy in the Republic of Serbia”, which showed that only every fifth young female citizen in Serbia believes that women have a business future in the RES industry and that women will be the leaders of the green transition.
