At the upcoming RES SERBIA 2024 conference in Vrdnik, MT-KOMEX CEO Miloš Kostić will talk about the challenges of building solar power plants.
After graduating from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at University of Belgrade, at the Department of Process Engineering, he initially worked as an Associate, researcher on projects at the Faculty. During the three-year period of work, he gained exceptional expertise in EE and RE projects within the Energy Efficiency Network in Serbia on the measurement and calculation of energy losses at the same Faculty. In the period from 2003 to 2009, he was engaged as a welding technologist and manager of the company MT-KOMEX from Belgrade.
He came into contact with renewable energy sources in mid-2009 when he started working as Deputy Regional Manager for the EBRD’s WEBSEFF program, and then as a coordinator on programs at KfW and GGF creditors on lines dedicated to energy efficiency, where he was in charge of verification and detailed energy audits for dozens of companies.
He came up with the idea in 2011 to develop the project of the first solar power plant in Serbia, formed the company SOLARIS ENERGY and managed to build a 2 MW solar power plant with partners. The power plant was built in Kladovo and has been operating successfully since 2013.
He has been engaged in the consulting company CEEFOR since 2011 as an engineer and project coordinator, and has been involved in the preparation of numerous feasibility studies, construction of small gas-fired power plants, cogeneration plants, solar power plants, hydroelectric power plants, etc.
Kostic has many years of experience in identifying the feasibility of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) projects and preparing plans for the rational use of energy for project financing by banks in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
As CEO of MT-KOMEX, in April 2023, he commissioned the largest bifacial solar power plant on earth, DeLasol, with a capacity of 9,913 MW. The construction of the DeLasol power plant has been entrusted to MT-KOMEX, which is a leader in the construction of solar power plants in our country.
He has the greatest practical experience in the field of consulting, design and construction on renewable energy projects that include PV, electric chargers for e-vehicles, mini hydro power plants, CHP plants and gas-fired power plants, wind farms and biomass power plants.
