Manager of RES Serbia, Danijela Isailović, spoke at Solarplaza Summit Balkans in Zagreb.
The Solarplaza Summit brought together more than 150 participants and over 30 speakers, including the manager of the Association RES Serbia, who participated in a panel discussion dedicated to strategic adaptations and new opportunities within the regulatory framework of the region.
During panel discussion, the speakers were also Aljoša Pleić, CEO of Acciona Energia Croatia, Saša Jovičić, Partner in Wolf Theiss, Andreas Rörig, President of the Management Board of E.ON Hrvatska i Margareta Rončević, Policy Officer, while the moderator was Snjólfur Richard Sverrisson, Editor-in-Chief at Montel.
She said that the Republic of Serbia has great ambitions for renewable energy sources, and from the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan we should expect to produce and consume 45 percent of green energy by 2030, while the National Strategy implies almost 11 new GW from wind and solar by 2040.
She also spoke about the absence of serious investors in the solar sector in the previous period, which resulted in the failure to fill the modest auction quota of 50 MW last year and the fact that we still do not have a single solar power plant connected to the electricity transmission system. She said the trend is expected to change soon.
This Summit provides an opportunity for networking and creating business opportunities, while all participants gained valuable insights into the future of solar energy in the Balkans, which is increasingly turning to renewable energy sources in order to reduce CO2 emissions and fight climate change.
We thank the organizers for the invitation and their wonderful hospitality.
