Director at CWP Europe will talk about electricity purchase agreements at the RES Serbia 2024 conference

Director of the Electricity Market Department at CWP Europe Marko Janković will participate in the traditional panel dedicated to the electricity market at the RES Serbia 2024 conference that is being held on September 23rd and 24th at the ethno complex Vrdnička Kula in Vrdnik.

Marko is one of the pioneers in the development of Serbia’s electricity market, boasting over 15 years of experience in the energy sector. He has played a significant role in market strategy development, creating regulatory frameworks, and promoting the green energy transition.

As an electrical engineering graduate, Marko had an extensive career with the Serbian transmission system operator, “Elektromreža Srbije” (EMS), and actively participated in numerous national and international energy organizations. Prior to joining CWP Europe, he served as the Director of the Electricity Market Division at EMS. During his career at EMS, he was pivotal in establishing market processes, drafting initial market rules, and creating essential legislative documents. He worked with his team on integrating the national market into the regional and pan-European electricity markets.

Marko has been a member of the ENTSO-E Market Committee and has served on the steering committees of the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) in Luxembourg and the European balancing platform for Imbalance Netting (IGCC). He takes great pride in his membership in the Serbian national committees for CIGRE and CIRED.

Currently, he is focused on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for electricity generated from renewable sources, with a particular emphasis on optimizing corporate contract models to address the unique characteristics of the energy sectors and electricity markets in Serbia and the Southeast European region.
