Challenges of electricity transmission systems in Europe

The challenges faced by electricity transmission system operators across Europe will be revealed by ENTSO-E board member Eleni Charpantidou at the RES SERBIA 2024 conference, taking place on September 23rd and 24th in Vrdnik.

Ms. Eleni Charpantidou, with a 20-years of post-qualification expertise in the development of infrastructure and renewable energy projects as an environmental engineer and with deep engagement in ENTSO’s processes, issues and common goals as the Senior Advisor to the CEO of IPTO, has been appointed Board Member of ENTSO-E since 2023 and holds the position of the referenced BoD member for the SEE region.

Eleni is currently the Director of European and Regional Affairs in IPTO and was a key player in the establishment of the SEleNe CC Regional Coordination Center for the SEE and GRIT region, remaining active in SEleNe CC’s day-to-day operations. She is highly involved in constructing deep connections with TSO members from the Balkan Countries, facilitating contacts and strengthening bonds of cooperation between EU and non-EU TSOs in the Southeast European Region.
