Such was the year 2025 for the Association RES Serbia and our members.
The Association continued its steady growth, increasing regular membership by 30%. We conclude 2025 with 39 regular members, 18 associate members, and 1 honorary member. New regular members include Comel, Čibuk 2, GE Vernova, Alcazar Energy, Fractal, Girisim Elektrik, Navitas, GMS Consult, EPCG Belgrade, Samer & Co. Shipping, HanPut-Plus, and Clarion Owners Engineers.
Our greatest focus was on protecting the interests of our members—advocating for a better regulatory framework, addressing challenges and problems, as well as engaging in the more inspiring part of our work: raising awareness about the importance of renewable energy sources, promoting our members, and fostering their networking.
Association Assembly: A New Mandate, New Energy
The most important internal event was traditionally held on the Association’s birthday, February 24th.
The Regular Assembly adopted the annual activity report, the plan for the coming year, and once again elected the current Management Board for a new term.

The largest and most important external event was the RES SERBIA 2025 conference, which, as the most significant regional gathering, brought together more than 500 participants from across Europe.

The Year of Partnerships
If we had to describe 2025 in a single word, it would be connection.
We devoted special attention to education, and through the implementation of the WWF project we organized workshops for young people in Belgrade and Kovačica to present research on youth attitudes toward climate change and the importance of renewable energy sources. Together with elementary and high school students, we celebrated Global Wind Day.
In co-organization with our member Go2 Power, we held an educational conference for Association members on battery storage. We partnered in supporting Siemens Smart Infrastructure Day, which included a visit to a wind park, while EBRD delivered a presentation on a solar thermal plant in Novi Sad for our members. Our member D2P organized an educational workshop on amendments to the Energy Law.
We partnered in supporting the Solar Plaza Conference in Banja Luka, the Eco Forum 2025 in Herceg Novi, the first Green Energy Fair in Zagreb, and The ESG Shift: From Compliance to Culture. Collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce continued, and we participated in the AHK Serbia Conference on energy infrastructure. We also supported RE-Source in Amsterdam. This year, our agenda included the Kopaonik Business Forum, SET Trebinje, the CIGRE conference in Serbia and Montenegro, the Energetika conference on Zlatibor, EPCG Net, and the Belgrade Economic Forum at the Metropol.
We continued exceptional international activity through active involvement in WindEurope and SolarPower Europe, attending meetings in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Brussels, as well as numerous webinars. Our members regularly received a wide range of reports and analyses. Throughout 2025, communication with the EU Delegation in Serbia and officials of the European Commission in Brussels was intensified.
Media Presence
It was highly prominent—with numerous appearances on RTS, Tanjug, Bloomberg TV, NewsMax, Euronews, as well as on specialized portals, in daily newspapers, and periodical press.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The upcoming year will be even more challenging, and we promise a steadfast commitment to green projects and the energy transition, along with many new ideas and events.
To begin, we are announcing the launch of the Association’s new website, as well as the spectacular RES SERBIA 2026 conference, which will traditionally take place in mid-September in Vrdnik.
Our members have been very successful this year, and some of them have decided to share their achievements:
MT-KOMEX: a Year of Major Projects
During 2025, MT-KOMEX further strengthened its position as a reliable partner in the construction of solar power plants.
The company successfully completed works on the DeLasol 2 plant, which will be commissioned in December 2025 or January 2026. In parallel, final activities are underway at the plant in Vranje, construction has begun on a solar power plant in Novi Bečej, and contracts have been signed for the construction of three plants, each with a capacity of 9.9 MW. These are MT-KOMEX’s first projects to use single-axis trackers, thereby increasing their overall annual production and economic efficiency.
In 2025, the group Sun, Energy and More was established as a holding company that takes ownership stakes in solar plants owned by MT-KOMEX. This management approach opened a new organizational chapter, and on October 1, 2025, Nikola Grubor was appointed Deputy Director, tasked with establishing corporate governance and implementing the restructuring of the entire MT-KOMEX system.
With strong growth in solar capacities, the company enters 2026 with a clear goal of further developing projects that will contribute to the energy transition of our country.
Siemens: Project TS Belgrade 50 – A New Era of Digital Substations
Siemens is bringing Process Bus technology to one of the largest substations in Serbia – TS Belgrade 50. Following the pioneering project at TS Bor 6, TS Belgrade 50 represents the next step toward the digital transformation of the local power system. The implementation includes advanced functionalities such as Point-on-Wave control, Digital Twin modeling, and virtual testing, which enabled reduced FAT time and increased reliability. Process Bus reduces wiring, accelerates installation, and ensures safety through a redundant PRP network. We are pleased that Process Bus technology is finding increasing local application, laying a strong foundation for future energy infrastructure capable of integrating a large number of renewable energy sources.

Schneider Electric: future of green energy
Just a few kilometers from Belgrade, in the municipality of Kovin, on October 21 the Čibuk 2 Wind Park was put into trial operation, marking the first production of electricity from wind. The project, backed by Masdar from the UAE and Taaleri Energia from Finland, represents a significant step forward in the development of renewable energy sources in Serbia and in strengthening energy security. The wind park consists of 22 Nordex turbines of 7 MW each, with an annual production of around 330 GWh, enough green energy to supply 62,000 households, while reducing CO₂ emissions by 311,200 tons per year. Schneider Electric, in cooperation with Elnos Serbia, delivered a medium-voltage GHA 40.5 kV substation with 15 cells, Power Logic P5 relays, and temperature monitoring, ensuring reliable and efficient infrastructure. The full capacity of 154 MW will be connected to the grid at the beginning of December 2025, confirming Serbia’s path toward a sustainable future.
New Energy Solutions
The past years have been marked by the intensive development of projects and preparations for building new capacities in the field of renewable energy. During 2025, as part of a new wave of RES power plant construction in Serbia, two major wind park projects—Pupin and Kostolac were successfully built and connected to the transmission system, with our team honored and entrusted to lead them to successful completion. By managing the construction of both projects, we made an important contribution to the development of new production capacities and to strengthening the energy independence of the system.
A particular highlight is the Pupin Wind Park (94.4 MW), where our expert team successfully carried out construction management through the role of Owner’s Engineer and professional supervision, achieving record construction deadlines. On the Kostolac Wind Park project (66 MW), which represents a pioneering endeavor of the Electric Power Industry in the field of wind energy, our team led professional supervision of the plant’s construction, setting new, high standards for future projects of this type.

In parallel with the construction of new capacities, the scope of activities in our operational power plant management sector continues to grow, expanding our portfolio to several newly built plants. Additionally, by initiating the development of new projects, we are expanding the portfolio of our development sector, following the long-term needs of the RES market.
We enter the upcoming season with optimism, encouraged by the results achieved, the growing trust of investors, and clear signals of further development in the renewable energy sector. We believe that the new phase will bring additional projects, the strengthening of domestic capacities, and continued cooperation among all stakeholders dedicated to the energy transition.
