New green megawatts on the grid: Čibuk 2 wind farm put into trial operation

The members of RES Serbia continue with the installation of new green megawatts. The trial operation of the Čibuk 2 wind farm began on October 21, when the first circuit was put into operation and the first production of electricity from the wind was achieved. So far, a total of 35 MW of installed power has been connected to the power grid.

Completion of the installation of all turbines is planned for mid-November, after which the entire wind farm, with a total installed capacity of 154 MW, will be connected to the grid in early December.

The Čibuk 2 wind farm is being built in the municipality of Kovin, in South Banat, about 40 kilometers from Belgrade, between the villages of Bavanište and Mramorak. The project represents a significant step towards the further development of renewable energy sources in Serbia and contributes to the reduction of harmful gas emissions, improvement of energy security and sustainable development of local communities.

The investors of the project are the companies Masdar from the United Arab Emirates and Taaleri Energia from Finland, while the local team of their joint company Masdar Taaleri Generation worked on the construction.
