Marko Janković, Head of Electricity Market Affairs and Regulation at CWP Europe, will speak at the traditional panel dedicated to the electricity market at the RES SERBIA 2026 conference, taking place on September 15 & 16 in Vrdnik.
Marko Janković is Head of Electricity Market Affairs and Regulation at CWP Europe and one of the pioneers of electricity market development in Serbia, with more than 18 years of experience in the energy sector. Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in shaping the market and regulatory framework, strategic sector development, and promoting the green energy transition.
He holds a degree in electrical engineering and has had a long career at Serbia’s transmission system operator – Elektromreža Srbije a.d., as well as significant involvement in numerous national and international organizations in the field of electricity markets.
Before joining CWP Europe, he was Director of the Electricity Market Directorate at EMS, where he made a key contribution to establishing market processes, drafting the first market rules, and creating the relevant regulatory framework. He actively participated in the integration of the national market into the regional and pan-European electricity market. Among his most notable achievements are EMS’s full membership in the European auction platform JAO Luxembourg, the IGCC imbalance netting platform, and the European Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) for guarantees of origin.
He was a long-standing member of the ENTSO-E Market Committee and several ENTSO-E working groups, as well as a member of the supervisory boards of JAO Luxembourg and the IGCC balancing platform. He is particularly proud of his membership in the CIGRE and CIRED market committees in Serbia.
At CWP Europe, he is responsible for developing and implementing power purchase agreement (PPA) models for renewable energy, with a special focus on corporate PPA models, as well as regulatory and broader market activities. He actively contributes to the development and optimization of PPA models for battery energy storage systems. He has participated in the realization of PPAs for the Vetrozelena wind park (300 MW) and the Solarina solar power plant (150 MW).
