This prestigious title, awarded with the aim of promoting the engineering profession and empowering women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), this year went to Gorana Radovanović, Director and DevSecOps Engineer at Codekido Engineering.

The ceremony gathered leaders from business, academia, and government. At the opening, organizers and project partners addressed the audience.

The keynote speech was delivered by Mihailo Vesović from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, who emphasized the importance of recognizing female leadership in traditionally male professions. Building on the theme of inclusion, Goran Milisavljević, General Director of Siemens Serbia, shared an inspiring fact from his own company:

-We are extremely proud that our team has the perfect balance – the percentage of women and men is exactly 50-50. This proves that success comes from the synergy of different perspectives.

Dragana Bećić, Assistant Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, also addressed the audience, highlighting the crucial role of digitalization and technological progress in modern society, as well as the importance of state support for such initiatives.

Ten Finalists – Ten Success Stories

This year’s competition brought strong contenders. The shortlist included 10 finalists who, according to the organizers, represent not only professional achievement but also a powerful reminder that with effort and vision, anything is possible.

Inspirational messages were also shared by guests of the event. Last year’s laureate, Dušana Topalski, spoke about how much this recognition serves as a tailwind, while Jelena Mitašinović emphasized: “No task is impossible if you are ready to learn.” A special motivational note was added by young Jovana Jegdić, a representative of the intellectual development school Malac Genijalac, symbolizing the future to come.

After a careful selection process, the title of “Engineer of the Year” was ceremonially awarded to Gorana Radovanović.
