CEO of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (Elektroprivreda Srbije) will traditionally speak at the upcoming RES SERBIA 2026 conference, which will be held in Vrdnik on September 15 and 16.
Dušan Živković is an electrical engineer with decades of work experience, both in managerial positions and in investments, financing, engineering, design of energy systems, management systems and their implementation in the “Electric Power Industry of Serbia”. He has been the head of the Joint Stock Company “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” since June 2023, and since June 2024 he has been the CEO of the largest energy company in Serbia and the region.
Živković launched the EPS Transformation Program, changes in the organizational structure and improvement of operational and financial processes, which, along with the digitalization of business processes and services, aim to make the largest energy company in the region a market-oriented and profitable company, ready to successfully deal with the challenges of global markets while at the same time focused on increasing customer satisfaction and achieving the goals of the Green Agenda.
Together with his team, he completed the construction of thermal block B3, the first EPS wind farm and solar power plant in Kostolac At the same time, the construction of desulphurization plants in the largest thermal power plants in the Balkans, TENT A and TENT B, was completed. He is one of the key people who initiated investments in the use of renewable sources in EPS and recognized the importance of the construction of the pumped-storage hydro power plant “Bistrica,” the most important project for the further development of the RES sector, as well as the necessity of implementing the 1 GW solar power plant project.
He began his professional career in “Jugel Engineering” in the construction of the National Dispatch Center. For two decades, he worked and managed investments, renewable energy sources and development of production capacities within EPS, and then managed the Sector for Renewable Energy Sources in the distribution network. He has actively participated in the preparation of long-term investment and development plans, as well as in numerous projects for the revitalization of equipment in open-pit mines, thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants, transmission and distribution networks, environmental protection projects, RES development and energy efficiency. He also devoted part of his career to the introduction of smart metering at the distribution level, creating conditions for a significant participation of RES, as well as the introduction of some new technologies in the Serbian energy sector.
