Sonja Risteska is the Head of the Battery Storage Platform at SolarPower Europe. She brings over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, spanning policy and project development. Throughout her career, she has worked across the non-profit, intergovernmental, and private sectors, actively contributing to the energy transition, coal phase-out, just transition, clean technology deployment, and solar PV and BESS development. Sonja has authored numerous articles, and her work has covered multiple countries and regions, she started in North Macedonia, worked through the Western Balkans, Germany, and Poland, and is now stationed in Brussels, Belgium. She holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in European Studies.
